Chattishgarh government has decided to provide free smartphone under a scheme named as Suchna Kranti Yojana (SKY). This decision was taken during the launch of CG Budget 2017-18. The following budget was launched by Chattishgarh Chief Minister -“Dr. Raman Singh ” with an aim to provide free smartphone to needy people and to support Digital India mission launched by Prime Minister Modi ji.
Free Smartphone under Suchna Kranti Yojana (SKY)
The following scheme was launched On March 6, 2017 during the launch of Financial Budget . Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh presented the state budget for the financial year 2017-18. While presenting the budget ‘Suchna Kranti Yojana (SKY)‘ was also launched which will provide free smartphones to the people of the state.
The finance that have been selected annually is of Rs. 76032 crore for the Budget. With the launch of the scheme chhattisgarh will also be counted in Digital states under Digital Mission.
Under this scheme 45 lakh smartphones will be given to BPL families (Below Poverty Line) in the state under ‘Suchna Kranti Yojana’ to provide accessibility of Chhattisgarh e-services in state.
Students benefits Suchna Kranti Yojana (SKY)
Students have different benefits under this scheme as under the scheme students will also get Free Smartphone along with a SIM card will be given to students in Chhattisgarh. This is a great step by Raman Singh government to move towards Digital India.
This students scheme is only applicable for university students.
